put my gap years on my resumé?
do I do it?
Our step-by-step program will lead you to a winning resumé via
these three essential steps:
Identify Your Strengths
Three exercises will help you identify - in bold, unique, resumé-worthy language - what you bring to the workplace (your brand).
There may be some years missing in your career chronology, but you've done important "work" during those years, and we will teach you our proprietary strategy for claiming it, pitching it, and leveraging it in a compelling (and successful) way.
Write Your Resumé
There are seven distinct sections to a successful resumé. We will teach you the purpose of each one and how to make yours stand out in a very crowded pool. We answer your most frequently asked questions, share before and after examples, and provide the tools to ensure that your resumé doesn't end up in the trash pile (as so many do).
We are resumé gap experts!
Both moms of four who took career breaks, we successfully navigated our way back to full employment and, for a combined 30+ years, we have helped 1,000 women (and counting) do the same.
We designed our Resumé Gap Lab to help you overcome the single biggest obstacle faced by a career returner: how to account for that 5, 10, or 20-year absence from the paid workforce. Your return-to-work success depends on getting this right - and we're here to guide you.
Our gap lab explains why you should include your gap years on your resumé and, more importantly, how to present them - with specific and definitive instruction, based on years of research and real-world experience at the hiring desk.
We hope you'll join us in our classroom!

What some of our students say about our "fill the gap" strategy:
"I would never have known how to represent all those years volunteering on my resumé and turn them into workplace currency. I was able to show that my skills were current and relevant and I landed multiple interviews almost immediately, had a choice of positions, and am now back working. Thank you, Susan and Kelley!"
- Tamara N.
"There were so many times during my return-to-work journey when I felt my 10-year career gap defined me, but Susan and Kelley helped me reclaim and repackage all of the valuable work I did during those years – and hiring managers were impressed. I'm now working in brand management at a major food company."
- Renata P.
"Susan and Kelley assured me that just because I’d taken a long career break, I didn’t need to settle for less. I did valuable “work” during my break and they helped me pitch it so confidently that I received two offers and recently started a senior client service role at a global technical staffing firm."
